April 17

The Montreal Expos nipped the Los Angeles Dodgers 3 to 2 at Jarry Park in a
hard fought contest.

Montreal did all of it's offensive work in the 6th inning as they scored 3
runs on 2 base hits.  The highlight belonged to Gary Carter who made the
home-town crowd a happy bunch when he clubbed a three-run home run (his 1st
of the season).  Montreal managed only 6 on the night.

Wilbur Wood(2-0) went 7 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Dan Warthen was
credited with his 3rd save.  Burt Hooton(0-2) took the loss.

stepped into the box and laced a one-base hit driving in one more runner.
Duane Kuiper added his contribution to the rally and hit a deep fly scoring
the final run of the inning.  Montreal had 13 hits for the game and Los
Angeles had 7.

April 20

In a dramatic ending the Los Angeles Dodgers staged a comeback and held on to
win over the Montreal Expos by the count of 5 to 4.

Los Angeles won the game with a rally in the top of the 9th inning scoring 3
runs on 3 hits.  Willie Crawford led off and started the attack as he laced a
base-knock.  Dan Warthen then had one get away for a wild pitch.  Davey Lopes
was a strikeout victim, unable to help out.  Andy Etchebarren stepped in and
he banged out a single.  Jim Wynn stepped into the box and drew a walk to
load the bases.  Ron Cey kept the inning going and drew a walk which scored a
run.  Gary Matthews was next and he drew a walk plating another run.  Lee
Lacy then stroked a single scoring the final run of the inning.  Los Angeles
had 10 hits for the afternoon.

The victory went to Don Sutton(2-1) who went 8 innings, allowing 4 runs. Grant
Jackson earned his 1st save.  Warthen(0-1) was given the loss in relief.

'I pin this one on my own shoulders,' Warthen said. 'The bottom line is I
didn't get the job done.  Our fans deserve better than this.'
