may 12 Montreal Expos won a dramatic crowd-pleaser over Los Angeles Dodgers at Jarry Park pulling it out in their last at bats, 4 to 3. The game was decided in the 9th inning. Ellis Valentine smashed a solo-shot out of the park (his 2nd of the season) giving Montreal the victory and sending the 32,922 home-town fans home happy. Montreal had only 5 hits for the game. The win went to Dale Murray(2-2) who allowed 1 run in 3 innings. Grant Jackson(0-1) was charged with the loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning and surrendered 1 hit and no walks. The Montreal ballclub's record now stands at a division leading 21-15. With the loss, Los Angeles has a record of 5-5 lately, 18-18 overall.
