Los Angeles jumped on top to stay in the top of the 2nd inning when they tallied 3 runs on 4 hits. That was all the offense they were to need. Los Angeles had 13 hits for the night while St. Louis had 9. The win was credited to Marty Pattin(2-5) who went 6 innings allowing 1 run. Jerry Koosman(4-7) absorbed the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 8 hits and 2 walks in 2 and 1/3 innings. For Los Angeles, it was just another victory in their mounting winning streak. Derek Jones was upset but philosophical about the loss. 'Sometimes you run into a team that's on a roll. This was one of those times.'
