WEB GEMS- Top 6th: Vic Correll blocked the plate, saving a run!
Rennie Stennett lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 3 RBI and Jim Rooker
allowed Darren Dawson to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at Fulton
Cnty. Stadium as the Pittsburgh Pirates belted the Atlanta Braves by the
count of 14 to 2.
Stennett was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day
at their team's expense. He laced a base-hit in the 6th inning, lined a
one-base hit resulting in a run in the 8th inning and cleared the fences for
a two-run home run (his 6th of the season) in the 9th inning. Pittsburgh
rapped out 15 hits for the night.
Rooker(4-8) allowed 2 runs on the game. The losing pitcher was Don Hood(0-1).
He served up 3 homeruns in his 2 and 2/3 innings.

In a two run game the Pittsburgh Pirates got by the slumping Atlanta Braves by
the score of 4 to 2.

scoring the final run of the inning. Pittsburgh had 11 hits for the
afternoon while Atlanta had 7.
