Game 1 - 7/14/75 Happy Birthday to me! Mets 4 Reds 0 Matlack 9-11 Bahnsen 5-5 Johnny Bench slams a 2-run homer against his former teammates, and Jerry Remy contributes a 2- run, 2-out triple. Jon Matlack throttles the Reds offense on 2 hits. Game 2 - 7/15/75 Reds 7 Mets 6 Eastwick 4-2 Apodaca 2-9 Pat Kelly fought the lights all night letting 2 hits fall in front of him, leading to a big 2nd inning for the Reds. One Reds home run was almost as productive as the 4 hit by the Mets. Apodaca loses his 9th in relief - bringing his lifetime mark to 4-20. Game 3 - 7/16/75 Reds 2 Mets 1 Nolan 12-5 Tate 3-7 Randy Tate gets no support, either from the offense or the bullpen. Lockwood walks in what turned out to be the decisive insurance run. Game 4 - 7/17/75 Mets 11 Reds 4 Lolich 2-2 Eastwick 4-3 Rawly Eastwick gives up 9 runs in 2 innings -- boosting his ERA to 4.47 -- to turn a squeaker into a laugher.
