Right fielder Dave Parker smacked 3 homeruns and had 6 RBI and Jim Rooker
allowed Darren Dawson to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the
Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the pitiful Chicago NL Cubs by the score of 13 to
5 at Wrigley Field.

Parker was a source of great heartache for the Chicago NL faithful all day.
He just kept pounding out hits! He lost the ball over the fence for three
runs in the 1st inning, cracked a two-run shot in the 4th inning and cracked
a solo homerun (his 18th of the season) in the 8th inning. Pittsburgh
finished with 13 hits in the victory.

Rooker(7-11) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 5 runs. Jesse
Jefferson(1-4) absorbed the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 2/3 of an inning
of work.

'I was really seeing the ball today,' Parker said 'I wish it was always this
easy.'
