Parker enjoyed a fine evening at the plate.  He rifled a three-run blast (his
4th of the season) in the 1st inning and tripled in the 7th inning.
Pittsburgh finished with 11 hits while Los Angeles ended up with 8.

The win was credited to John Candelaria(3-1) who went 6 innings allowing no
runs. Burt Hooton(3-1) was hit with the loss.  He gave up 8 hits and 2 walks
in 6 innings.

Tommy John had a strong outing as the Los Angeles Dodgers outscoredthe
Pittsburgh Pirates 2 to 1.

John(3-1) dominated Pittsburgh hitters.  He allowed just 4 hits and 1 walk in
8 innings lowering his ERA from 1.74 to 1.38.  Pittsburgh made it exciting in
the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

John got help from Stan Wall who earned his 5th save.  The losing pitcher was
Jim Rooker(1-2).  He pitched 7 innings and surrendered 6 hits and 4
walks.

'Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals' said Darren Dawson after the game.
'We lost this game tonight because we didn't follow the instructions every
Little Leaguer hears every day.'
