Subject: Mets sweep Braves

The New York Mets travel to Fulton County Stadium and take revenge for the spanking they received in the Big Apple.

Steve Carlton shuts down the Braves with 9th inning help from Skip Lockwood.
Bruce Boisclair's game-tying two-run double is the big hit in the 3-run 9th inning comeback.
Doyle Alexander dodges numerous bullets in 7 scoreless innings.  A 3-run 8th nails down the 3-0 win.

If the Mets can get but a single win against the Pirates they will end week 4 with at least a share of first place!

Pat Kelly hit 2 doubles and scored 3 times at Fulton Cnty. Stadium as the New
York NL Mets pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the Atlanta Braves by the
count of 5 to 4.

New York NL had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning scoring 3
runs on 2 hits.  After an out was recorded, Keith Hernandez started the rally
when he doubled.  Kelly stepped up next and he drew a walk.  Bruce Boisclair
then doubled bringing in two baserunners.  Sixto Lezcano stepped in and he
hit a sacrifice fly scoring the final run of the inning.  New York NL totaled
8 on the night.

Alan Foster(1-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 innings. Foster
got relief help from Bob Apodaca who gained credit for his 2nd save.  Charlie
Hough(2-2) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He surrendered 2 hits and 1
walk in 1 inning.

'We just kept swinging the bats and didn't give up,' Kelly said. 'If you just
keep trying good things can happen!'
