Ellis Valentine delivered a one-base hit. Dan Ford followed, but he was set down on strikes. After another out, Chip Lang came up and he ripped a base-knock scoring the run. New York NL had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short. The win went to Lang(3-2) who allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.
