Subject: RE: [PreSmiley] Re: Serpentine Dratt?

The input was actual. I would oppose a serpentine draft. Here is my
reasoning:

A straight draft favors the team(s) that select early in the draft. This
much is obvious.
This means that teams later in the draft are at a disadvantage.
Serpentine drafts are/were created in an effort to even out the effects of
drafting first or last.
This is done where teams begin on an equal footing and leagues don't want to
punish a team late in the draft merely because they were unlucky in whatever
method was used to determine draft order.
Teams in PreSmiley are NOT on an equal footing to begin with. Some of the
rosters are inherently better than others.
Ergo, there is no need to even out the effects of a straight draft.
The bad teams have gained a slight advantage in the draft because they are,
well, bad.
In my mind this is both good and fair.

Regards,
Steve B.

Steve,
That's a pretty flip comment. Do you have any actual input?
